Suggested procedures:

Before you watch: have students do task 1 in pairs and then check their answers.

While watching: Get students to answer the two questions. After that,  play the video again to check answers.

After watching: Ask students to answer questions 4, 5 and 6, guiding them where needed. Question 7 should be done in pairs followed by a whole-class discussion.

Time : 25 minutes

The segment was extracted from an episode of Desperate Housewives. It is a short conversation between a wife and her husband in the kitchen. Since he tells her about what happened during his day, the snippet is good for practicing the Simple Past.

Suggested procedures:

Before watching: invite students to have a conversation in order to answer questions from number 1 and number 2.
While watching: have students watch the segment once and answer the question in number 3. Then have them do number 4 and play the video again.
After watching: get students to do numbers 5, 6, and 7. You might play the video one more time, if necessary.
Extra practice: this is a moment for studying the grammar itself. Have students complete the table and list all the irregular verbs in number 9.
Time: 20 minutes.
