The segment was extracted from an episode of How To Get Away With Murder. Since it shows many young adults speaking before a class in college, it is a contextualized example of the use of idioms.
Suggested procedures:
Before you watch: do task 1 together with students. Have them share their opinions and experiences.
While you watch: invite students to watch the video segment and do tasks 2 and 3.

I’ve got a question! What’s the meaning of “shooter” in this context?

Hi Luisa,
The guys says “you don’t want to be a sitting duck when the shooter gets here”. A “sitting duck” is like a toy duck at an amusement park stand for people to shoot at (see this image: https://goo.gl/mCeBnu). In the scene, the images are used metaphorically, with the “sitting duck” being the student and the “shooter” the professor who is about to enter the class.
